Continuing Shorebirds (Photos)

Greetings,
Last night my fellow housemates and I went to look at Heislerville again for the movements of roosting and feeding shorebirds. I was able to manage some photos of the more numerous species present (Semipalmated Plover, Semipalmated Sandpiper, Dunlin, and Black Skimmer). Some of the better ones follow:

Heislerville Shorebirds/Peregrine Falcon

Greetings,
Last night before dark my housemates and I drove over to the Heislerville WMA to look over the shorebird flocks to get an idea of what was going on regarding the movements of the thousands of birds that were using it during the day in hopes of banding them in the future. All in all […]

Cape May Island Birding (04/26/2008)

Greetings,
With the weekend off, and an uncertainty about what day was going to be better for birding, my housemates (David y Cesar) and I decided to head down to Cape May for some early season birding. Driving from the center it took us about 30 minutes or perhaps a little more to reach our first […]

NJ Yellow Rails

Greetings,
For those of you that do not know, Yellow Rail is perhaps one of the toughest birds to add to any birder’s list in North America. It’s secretive nature, small size, and the habitats it uses all help to keep it well out of sight from most birder’s eyes. However, it can be heard time […]

Due to the lack of resources currently on this laptop from which I am writing, I can not make the tiles which we use for the Website of the Week page. I apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause, but suggest all to look through our EXTENSIVE links page for many great and wonderful […]

White-faced Ibis (Heislerville, NJ)

Greetings,
Yesterday my housemates (David y Cesar) had the good fortune of getting a few hours of birding in on company time. There was a mistake regarding the tide charts that someone had viewed, and thus when we went to look for birds while we waited for the water to recede.
Our banding site is at […]

Greetings,
With a few extra minutes this weekend I updated two of my NJ lists that can be found on my NJ page. The lists updated are my yard list and butterfly list. I hope to have my total NJ list up by the week’s end.

Internet Explorer Issues Anybody?

Greetings,
So for the first time in a while, I looked at my website via Internet Explorer. This is because that is what this particular PC at CMBO has for its browser. Simply put the home page doesn’t quite look the way it did at my house on Firefox. So with that said, does anybody have […]

IN NJ- Safe and Sound

Greetings,
Just so everybody knows, I made it to NJ- Safe and Sound. The last two days have been fairly hectic, more so with just cleaning up the house and settling into the area. I haven’t had a chance to get much birding in, at least not more than casual in the yard or on my […]

Hawk Attack (Remains)

Greetings,
My apologies on the lateness of this post. A few days ago my father told me of a hawk attack he witnessed in the back yard. He stated that an accipiter, either a Sharp-shinned Hawk or Cooper’s Hawk- as they have both been in the neighborhood lately- attacked a passerine on the ground. He stated […]
