Greetings,

With the ringing in of the new year, comes the ringing in of a new Chat Happens. Ironically enough the renewal date of this weblog comes at the start of each year, and it is this combined timing that often has us at Chat Happens viewing the site with fresh eyes. This will not be the first year it has happened, and it probably won’t be the last, but we do hope this year’s efforts for renewal will be one of the best.

Starting our fourth year we have seen many birding blogs come and go, with many more in the past months starting up. Lots of these blogs are well done, and have given us here an inspiration to focus upon for ‘09. Certainly our past inclusion to the Roger Tory Peterson Institute’s list of favorite links was not a fluke, and we hope to once again regain this level of recognition and admiration.

We hope that you will join us for the journey, and give us feedback along the way. As we have always said, while this site is our weblog, it is “Your portal about birds, the places they take us, and the people we meet”. The birding community is a bond we must never forget because it is these bonds that help make changes for our planet’s future and all of its’ feathered inhabitants.
