And the results are in! (2006 Year List)
Greetings,
Well, despite the lack of action on this site over the course of the past months, I have still indeed been birding. In fact, right up to the very last day. While 2006 was a less productive year for me with the birds than 2005, it still was a great year nontheless.
My total for the year came out to a solid 334. This was a result of course of living in CA for 6 months, and traveling across country in the early fall through the Sierra and Rocky Mountains before many of the breeding birds had departed. I was also able to get back east in time for a few lingering migrants. The sole reasons that I did not top out over 400 was the fact that I did not take a more southerly route during the fall, and that I only did a few pelagics out of CA instead of 8-10 like last year.
With any luck, over the course of the next few weeks I will be able to write a post to summarize my birding year, however due to so many things I am hoping to accomplish with the site again, it may or may not happen.
At any rate 2006 was a great year, now it is time to focus on 2007.
Best,
~Chad
