Beck’s Petrel Not Extinct!

Greetings,

Good news for the bird world today as the scientific community released information that Beck’s Petrel has finally been discovered once again, this time the first sightings occurring in 79 years. It is a truly remarkable find, and because all of us at Chat Happens are seabird lovers through and through we wanted to share this truly inspirational find.

To find more out about this remarkable discovery, check out the report on BirdLife International’s page [here].

Great to hear a story about a bird coming back from what was believed extinction. Hopefully now with the discovery the right steps can be made to conserve what is now one of the world’s rarest birds.

Cheers,
~Chad
