Chat Happens Listing Wiki

Greetings,

Year listing, along with life listing, is an important facet of birding culture. While there are those that do not care to participate, it should be said that at least half, if not the majority of all birders keep lists in one way or another. In fact, here at Chat Happens, we have a whole section of the website devoted to lists, and even though the page is far from being completely developed, we think it will be an important aspect of the Chat Happens experience for years to come.

To try things out, I’ve developed a Chat Happens Wiki which is partially modeled after the David Cup Wiki for the Cayuga Basin, the Kingbird Region 8 Wiki, and the Surfbirds.com rankings page. This Wiki was developed for Chat Happens users to develop a listing community and compare Year List and Life List results from all over the country, and all over the world. For now, any users and viewers of Chat Happens can visit the 2009 Year List Wiki here, and if they would like to be added to the current Year List to post their results, email us here at chat_happ(at)yahoo(dot)com with your name, location, total birds to date, species highlights, and states birded. If it starts up well, updates can be done around the first and fifteenth of each month, and perhaps other listing options (Life, Yard, Region, etc.) can be done. It should be a fun experience with a little participation.

Bird on!
Chad
