eBird
Greetings,
Looking over the eBird page, I figured it was due time to write a short post about the site. If you aren’t familiar with it, eBird was started several years ago between NAS and the Cornell Lab of O. It is a wonderful online tool, that when used correctly can provide many wonderful experiences in regards to reporting and storing bird sighting data. It allows users to input data for bird sightings anywhere across the US (and more) and store them in various types of checklists, all of which can be analyzed later.
Recently looking over the site I discovered that there is a new set of data features allowing users to check on arrivals, departures, and hight counts for submittable species. All of these wonderful features and more is why we have made eBird our Website of the Week for the first week of March. Surely this post can’t due full justice for the website, so please check it out, and put your sightings to scientific use.
