Thanks for the review. I have had my Nikon 8x42 Monarch for about six months now, and I love them. My previous pair was an 8x42 Swift UltraLight, and I had sent them out for repair. I was headed up to the Tule Lake area for a few days in July and had not yet received my binocs from being repaired, so I went to my local Wild Bird Center and was shown the Nikon Monarch, and I loved it from the first time I put them up to my face. From one who wears glasses, I really like the twist cups. And you are so right about being able to focus so quickly, and in almost any kind of light (or lack thereof). I have also noticed that these binocs can focus closer than the Swift UltraLights, and as for distance, the clarity is remarkable. Again, thanks for the review and endorsement. I feel that I made an excellent decision and a really good investment.
