For those of you who have not yet heard about this guide, I highly recommend picking it up! The Shorebird Guide by Michael O’Brien, Richard Crossley & Kevin Karlson will be a great reference guide for anyone looking to learn more about identifying birds of this challenging, yet fun group. While I do not own it yet, I will one day, and even looking at it for a few minutes just the other day I was really impressed. While not an official sponsor, Bolinas-based bird artist Keith Hansen referred to the book in a conversation with myself as “Epic!” It is hard to argue with words as strong as that. Check it out, I’m sure it will be worth it!
