Thanks to the Tuppers
Greetings,
Yesterday I had one of the most satisfying days in a long time. I was visited by my close friend Emily (and her family) before her volunteer work on the Farallon Islands this summer with PRBO. It had been 2 years since I last saw her in the state of Maine where we worked for the National Audubon Society, and upon seeing her again, I realized that it has been 2 years too many.
Our day together yesterday felt all too short, yet we packed a lot in: a nice lunch in Stinson Beach followed by birding and exploration of the Bear Valley Visitor Center as well as the Elephant Seals and the Point Reyes Lighthouse on the Outer Point. All of this was concluded by an amazing dinner in Bolinas at the Coast Cafe.
I really wish the best for her, and her stay here in CA, and I want to thank her and her family for allowing me to share a little bit of my world out at the point with them. It feels great to have a familiar face working so close (18 miles away), however with the Pacific Ocean and many a Great White Shark in between us, it feels more like ’so close, yet so far’.
Best wishes to you Em! Have fun, and have an amazing time!!!
